Peyto Lake is a hidden gem in the heart of the Canadian Rockies, offering an unparalleled backdrop for couples seeking an intimate elopement. When photographing an elopement here, the focus is on the couple's connection and the natural beauty surrounding them. Each click of the shutter captures candid moments — the soft laughter, shared glances, and quiet whispers, all amplified by the serene setting. When I first met with Lauren and Luc, in the parking lot at 6am we quickly said our “hello’s” and proceeded to get our boots on and begin the trek to reach the lookout point. I was so excited because the gloomy weather meant even bluer water and I could only imagine the images we were going to get especially with how well dressed Lauren and Luc were.
The sense of liberation felt while standing atop the lookout is palpable. There’s something profoundly freeing about being in such an extraordinary landscape, far from the crowds of a conventional ceremony. It inspires couples to truly be themselves, allowing for authentic expressions of love, even as the camera rolls.

After taking all the pictures we needed we proceeded to head down the mountain and made our way into the parking lot. We then decided to drive down the road to get a few more images with a different backdrop, I love giving my couples variety in their images. We stopped on the side of the road to go run off into the field and take some more playful candid moments. Here, love is not confined by tradition but is celebrated in its purest form, full of freedom and inspiration.
